Tour Plan
Day 01
Marrakech – Telouet – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
- In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech and set off through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, which offers stunning views of the High Atlas Mountains. You will stop to visit the Telouet Kasbah, the historical residence of Pasha Glaoui.
- Afterward, enjoy lunch before continuing your journey through the Ounila Valley, passing traditional Berber villages. Along the way, you will visit the Tamdakhte Kasbah and the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its traditional architecture and breathtaking scenery.
- In the evening, you will arrive in Ouarzazate, where you will spend the night in a guesthouse with dinner and breakfast included.
Day 02
Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – M’Hamid – Erg Chegaga
- You will depart at 8:00 AM from Ouarzazate towards the Draa Valley in a 4×4 vehicle, enjoying the stunning views of palm groves, family gardens, and small villages along the valley. You will visit the traditional pottery workshops in Tamgroute, with the option to explore the Quranic Library, which houses rare manuscripts.
- The journey continues towards M’Hamid, where you can admire the beautiful desert landscapes. Afterward, you will have lunch in a tent amidst the first sand dunes. In the evening, you will head to the majestic dunes of Erg Chegaga, where you can climb the highest dune for a breathtaking sunset view.
- The day will end with dinner and an overnight stay in a comfortable desert camp at Erg Chegaga.
Day 03
Desert Day – Chegaga Dunes
- After a delicious breakfast, begin your adventure with a camel ride, exploring the vast desert landscape. Feel the serenity and beauty of the dunes as you journey through the desert.
- For lunch, you’ll enjoy a traditional meal in the heart of the desert, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the sand dunes.
- In the late afternoon, return to your camp, where you’ll have time to relax and reflect on the day’s experiences. As the day winds down, witness the stunning desert sunset – a perfect end to your desert exploration.
- After sunset, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner under the stars, followed by a musical evening by the campfire, making for an unforgettable desert experience.
Day 4
Erg Chegaga – Lake Iriki – Foum Zguid – Taznakht – Marrakech
- After breakfast, you will depart from Chegaga in a 4×4 vehicle, driving alongside the towering dunes and the dried bed of the Draa River. On the way, you will pass through Lake Iriki, a vast, flat area of compacted sand.
- You will continue your journey across rocky desert landscapes (Hamada) until reaching Foum Zguid. From there, you’ll head towards Taznakht, a town famous for its handwoven carpets.
- Finally, you will drive back to Marrakech via the Tichka Pass, arriving in the late afternoon, marking the end of your desert adventure.
